The Snow Castle

Children's book illustration of a scene in the snow. On the right hand side of the image a young boy with red hair stands in front of an impressive snow castle he has built. His older brother and a friend stand on the left side of the page, looking amazed at the castle. In the background are snow covered bushes and trees.

Personal art created during a very rainy January when my kids and I were all wishing for snow. The story was inspired by a snow castle my brother and I built when we were little. In our minds it looked something like this. In reality, it was just a square of snow bricks.

Acrylic gouache and colored pencil on hot press watercolor paper.
